Fahrenheit 451 reaction 2
Fabian comes out in this part of the story. From a flashback, I guess that Montag was starting to have inner conflicts before he met Clarssie. Starting from when he met Fabian, an old man sitting on an old bench in an old park, the seeds of doubt started to take root. I think this because when Montag first met Fabian, Montag guessed that Fabian had a book in his shirt but Montag didn't do or say anything. When Fabian gave Montag his address, Montag didn't do his duty as a fireman and go report Fabian. If things went along as they should have, if Montag hadn't hesitated and reported Fabian, the story would have a very different ending. Montag would have been like the other "normal" people, living in a lie. He wouldn't have been able to read the books properly in the end because nobody would have been left to teach him.
