Fahrenheit 451 reaction 2
Fabian comes out in this part of the story. From a flashback, I guess that Montag was starting to have inner conflicts before he met Clarssie. Starting from when he met Fabian, an old man sitting on an old bench in an old park, the seeds of doubt started to take root. I think this because when Montag first met Fabian, Montag guessed that Fabian had a book in his shirt but Montag didn't do or say anything. When Fabian gave Montag his address, Montag didn't do his duty as a fireman and go report Fabian. If things went along as they should have, if Montag hadn't hesitated and reported Fabian, the story would have a very different ending. Montag would have been like the other "normal" people, living in a lie. He wouldn't have been able to read the books properly in the end because nobody would have been left to teach him.

Fahrenheit 451 reflection
I like Ray Bradbury's descriptions in his Fahrenheit 451. his descriptive paragraphs are not like some, long, boring and long. His writing is clear, quick to the point, yet at the same time beautiful. At first, I didn't understand the part about his wife and the sound of the sea, later as I kept reading, I understood it was talking about earplugs or something similar. I like the mechanical hound and the irony in his plot. I think the message he is sending to us is to value books or they will start to disappear. Like his short story, the Pedestrian, he talks about technology taking over our lives, choices and freedom. In the conversation with Clarisse, the authors fear are shown, everyone rushing on with their lives, not appreciating nature, not talking, not reading. Everyone just sits around watching television all day. Television has succeeded in taking over their lives. Montag's wife, Mildred, has three walled televisions and craves for a fourth. Television is now not an entertainment but a drug one can't stop using.
Books Recommendation
Ender's Game is about the main character, Ender, who is, at the age of six, smarter than almost everyone, including professors and teachers. He has an older sister, Valentine, and brother, Peter. Valentine is a soft, kind girl with too much compassion in her heart to be used and Peter is this cruel, evil person who enjoys skinning Squirrels alive. The Battle School (a bit like the spaceship force) hoped Ender to be in between passion and cruelty, passionate enough to love his army, get along with everyone, but cruel enough to survive and kill their enemy the Buggers.
The Buggers are alien species way more high technological than humans. However, they are like ants because they have queens that control the soldiers and communicate with each other using telephy. The Buggers are man's worse enemy and the nightmare of children, or so we think.
At first, Ender is picked to become a strategist at a space command school. At school, he is picked on and isolated because he is the smartest. The teachers torture him every chance they can in every way possible. First, they stop him from making friends, then after he miraculously makes some friends, they get taken away from him. At battle school, there are different troops or squads. Each squad has its leader. Ender gets picked after a year there when most people are chosen when they have more than two years years of experience. The teachers give Ender a whole new bunch of Launchies or newbies. They expect Ender to form them into an excellent team. Ender recognizes the challenge for what it is but goes ahead and makes his army into a legend, an unloosing legend. The teachers then continue there "fun". They start giving him two battles on the same day, disable there weapons, send two teams against them, give the other team a five minute head start, stuff like that. Though Ender wins all the challenges, he is tired and almost dieing from the pressure on him. The school knows he is about to quit so they send him off to command school, a place where people are sent when they are almost fifteen. Of course Ender doesn't want to go, so the commander, Griff, finds Ender's sister Valentine, the only person who was kind to Ender, to persuade him to go. He does.
At Command School, Ender is isolated from everyone else. This time instead of making everyone hate him, they don't give him the chance of even meeting the same person twice! At the battle school, Ender meets Mazer Rackham, the legendary hero of the Second Bugger wars. Mazer stayed alive by traveling through light (in the book, two weeks may past in light speed when in reality twenty years had blown away) to train the next strategist. Ender gets tricked into playing a strategy game which he thinks is against Mazer and is fake. However in reality the war had already started. The games Mazer had called "practice" were actually real battles with the Buggers. After Ender blows up the entire Bugger planet, he finds a place from his computer games. He follows the direction and finds the last of the Bugger queens in an egg sack. Then does Ender understand the Buggers so becomes the Speaker for the dead and writes two books, one on humans and one on the Buggers.

Reflective post: Macbeth
Macbeth is the king of the story. A pawn on the board set by the witches and his queen. Macbeth, like most people, was overcome by greed and what other people told him to do. Shakespeare really did a terrific job writing this but it is hard to understand all the characters and their relationships. The story cautions us not to do what we know is wrong and to beware doing things that will come back to haunt us.
